CSA Plate Football Champions

By Roving Reports Lewis Haywood and Jamie Slatter Drinkwater (Y7 Choristers)

This Wednesday the Choristers from years 6-8 went to Salisbury Cathedral to sing evensong and to play in a Football Tournament.  The tournament started badly with 1-0 loss against Salisbury, then a 0-0 draw with Truro.  Finally we came back in our third match against Bristol when Louis Morford booted the ball into the opposition's half giving Hugo Till a great set up.  The second goal came from Ben Crossley with excellent work down the wing giving us a 2-0 win.  The our fourth match was against Exeter where in extra time we managed to secure the win with excellent footwork from Ben Crossley.  In the final no goals were scored in the match or extra time, so it was all down to penalties.

After brilliant saves by goalie Jamie Slatter Drinkwater it was 8-8 in penalties and was down to the opposition's captain and Jamie saved a near goal, follwed by our Ben Crossley shooting the ball into the bottom right hand corner and we had won!

After a lovely evensong we went to Prezzo and went home.  What a great day and a big mention to all our players: Jamie Slatter Drinkwater, Louis Morford, Rowan Ireland, Oscar Richardson, Ben Crossley, Kieren Hutt, Hugo Till and Lewis Haywood.
