Latest CD - Christmas from Tewkesbury

Our latest CD is now available on the Regent label.  Christmas from Tewkesbury is a collection of festive music from the repertoire that the choristers and lay clerks of Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum can be heard singing during the run up to Christmas each year.  Some of the pieces are new recordings of well-known favourites, whilst others will be less familiar.  Every year Dean Close School, where the choristers are now educated, commissions a carol for the choir and this recording includes three recent commissions - Bob Chilcott's atmospheric setting of The night he was born; Philip Moore's reserved Into a quiet world and Thomas Hewitt Jones jaunty setting of Verbum caro factum est.  The last two pieces are recorded here for the first time.

The CDs are available from The Abbey Shop or from Jane Lyons, Schola Cantorum Manager, at Jane Lyons
